Distillery Sustainability Software

Spirit Sight is distillery sustainability software that turns meter readings and waste records into a real carbon, water, and waste picture. Energy use, water draw, and waste streams already exist in the operation; the system applies cited emission factors to them so your footprint is calculated from activity rather than estimated once a year.

In short: Distillery sustainability software tracks utilities and waste, calculates Scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon from that activity using cited emission factors, compares water and energy intensity to industry benchmarks, measures waste diversion from landfill, and tracks progress against science-based targets.

Carbon from activity, not guesswork

Scope 1 direct combustion, Scope 2 purchased electricity and steam, and Scope 3 value-chain emissions are calculated from your utility and production data using a cited emission-factor library. Scope 2 is reported both location-based and market-based per the GHG Protocol, and Scope 3 covers the categories that matter for spirits, with grain and glass typically the largest, rather than reporting a hollow Scope 3 of zero.

Intensity against real benchmarks

Absolute numbers do not say whether you are efficient. Spirit Sight expresses water as litres per litre of pure alcohol, energy per unit of spirit, and carbon per proof gallon, then compares each to cited industry benchmarks with a below, within, or above status. Water-stress exposure is tracked by withdrawal in high and extremely-high stress areas, the same lens regulators and frameworks expect.

Waste diversion and science-based targets

Waste is tracked by stream and disposition, with diversion from landfill measured against recycling, composting, and feed routes, including the spent grain a distillery already sends to farms. Reduction targets follow the science-based-targets methodology against a baseline year, so progress is checked against the annual rate a credible net-zero path requires instead of an aspirational round number.

FAQ

Frequently asked

How does it calculate Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions?
From your utility, production, and waste activity multiplied by a cited emission-factor library, with Scope 2 reported both location-based and market-based and Scope 3 covering the categories material to a distillery, grain and glass first.
Does it compare us to industry benchmarks?
Yes. Water per litre of pure alcohol, energy per unit of spirit, and carbon per proof gallon are each compared to cited industry benchmarks with a below, within, or above status.
Can it track science-based reduction targets?
Yes. Targets follow the science-based-targets methodology against a baseline year, and progress is judged against the annual reduction rate the pathway requires.
